Wintegra Deploys Cadence Encounter Platform for Market Leading Access Packet Processor Designs
Fabless Semiconductor Company Adopts Cadence RTL-to-GSDII flow and
Delivers More than 50 Design Wins in 2002
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 17, 2003--
Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NYSE:CDN) today announced that
Wintegra, a fabless semiconductor company and a leader in the access
network market, has deployed the Cadence(R) Encounter(TM) digital IC
design platform to take the next step into the challenge of nanometer
design technology.
"Integrating the Encounter platform from Cadence has dramatically
improved time to market, reduced die size and enhanced timing closures
in our WinPath Access Packet Processor," said Kobi Ben-Zvi, Wintegra
president and CEO. "Cadence nanometer solutions have proven themselves
throughout our design process."
WinPath(R) is a family of single-chip solutions that handles
protocols for access networks. WinPath offers more than 20 protocols
on-chip simultaneously and debuted in November 2001 as the industry's
first access packet processor.
Wintegra's early integration of the Cadence Encounter platform and
deployment of the SoC Encounter(TM) RTL-to-GSDII system was a
contributing factor resulting in more than 50 worldwide design wins of
its WinPath access packet processor family. These design wins included
multibillion-dollar companies and designs spanning multi-service
access concentrators to wireline access and wireless infrastructure.
"Wintegra's impressive design wins are proof positive," said
Guillaume d'Eyssautier, vice president and general manager for Cadence
Europe. "We're very pleased to have been a part of Wintegra's success
-- from their first ramp up to becoming a leading player in the access
network market -- and we look forward to continuing to partner with
Wintegra as they move deeper into nanometer technologies."
